The works involved the two level fitout of the North Sydney site to consolidate the North Ryde staff over two floors. There was a half floor adjustment/fitout of the North Ryde site as well. The North Sydney works consisted of a modification to an existing fitout to suit the new requirements. Some of the existing offices were left as was and the balance were modified for the clients requiements. The existing troffer lighting remained with new feature lighting installed throughout. The power services were modified to suit the new layout and with no recessed floor boxes allowed we installed under carpet floor trunking with pedestrian ramps. These were limline and carpeted over to blend in and provided power, data and AV service cables access from the wall outlets to the centre tables.
The data system was a patch by exception system and the existing system was to be reused as far as practical. All the existing data needed to be tested for compliance and identified before we undertook and relocations. The existing workstations were re-configured to a new layout which saw every workstation power supply and data cable removed, relocated, re-terminated and tested across the two floors. Carefull management of this saw only an extra 10 data cables installed to me the new layout.
The main works (stage 1) were completed in 10 weeks with stage 2 (Kitchen) and stage 3 (interconnecting stairs) completed across a further 3 months. The project ran smoothly with a good site team from Kerfoot and FDC and completed all stages on time. The client Goodman Fielder was more than happy with our works and we have kept them as a client and now have a service relationship with them. This was a successful project for Kerfoot.
