Kerfoot was engaged after the successful completion of the main buildings works, NDIA moved in to Ground floor and level 2.
The project consisted of the fitout to the Ground floor and part level 2 in the ATO building. The Base building infrastructure was re-used where possible and new services installed as required to provide the new documented layout.
The existing power Distribution system was modified to accommodate the new design. The Tenant DB`s have a non-essential and essential (generator backed) section and the fridges, Security and communications equipment is connected to the essential section. The balance of the power services and connected to the non-essential section. The power subcircuits were all new and installed through the existing ceiling systems. New floor boxes and floor chases were installed to some areas with all services running outside of the tenancy installed in steel conduit. Particular attention was given to co-ordination with joinery, workstation items and Security requirements.
The existing basic troffer lighting system was supplemented with new down lights, strip lights and pendants. The existing Dynalite lighting control system was modified and expanded to control the new additional lighting zones and fittings. The lighting control system consists of touch screens, switches, and multifunction sensors. The existing troffers and loom system was modified/re-located to suite the new layout with extra sensors installed to control the new layout
The Emergency lighting system was modified / increased to suite the new layout. The base building system is a monitored system and this was updated to accommodate the revised Layout.
The communications system was all new works. The system consists of a communications room on each floor housing the cabinets and UPS systems. Each floor is backed up by a UPS and is connected to the Generator backed section of the Tenant DB. A TE-Connectivity cat6a structured cabling system was installed throughout the site. The tie cables from the GF to L2 consist of fibre and copper installed in steel conduit through all common areas.
The scope of works includes the supply of all labour, suitable materials, plant and equipment to complete the full Electrical Services package in accordance with the reference documents and includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Modification to the Base Building Tenant DB`s
- Sub mains
- Distribution boards
- Internal lighting and associated sub circuiting
- Internal lighting controls
- Emergency and exit lighting
- Power outlets
- Floor Boxes
- Telecommunications Equipment and cabling.
- Cat6a Structured cabling system
- UPS rack mount and free standing systems inc bypass switch. (Units supplied by NDIA)
- Fibre Optic systems
- MATV outlets
- Hearing Loops
