Project Description
Kerfoot was asked by ARUP to assist in delivering the Vivid lighting display ‘Light Origami’ at this years Vivid festival.
Light Origami invited viewers to explore the nature of reality by entering a giant 3D kaleidoscope. The domed structure is bathed in light and was constructed using over 320 origami shapes made from aluminium composite panels. Changing spectrums of light were projected within the space, and when mirrored against the aluminium composite panels, the effect is like being inside a kaleidoscope.
Project Accolade
The delivery of this display presented many difficulties – short time frames, limited electrical connections and weather. Kerfoot worked closely with the team at ARUP, AMP, Light Projects and Masakazu Shirane the creator of ‘Light Origami’ to deliver an amazing display that had all of Sydney excited to get inside.
