Project Description
The Westmead Executive Offices was one of the first stages of the Major works to be undertaken over the next 10 years by Health Infrastructure and the NSW government.
The team at Kerfoot worked closely throughout design and tender stage with the nominated head contractor and was awarded this project along with a number of minor works to occur at the same time.
For Kerfoot the project included the design and construction of all electrical services for this new office area of the hospital.
Works began at Christmas time with the project to hand over before staff returned from their Christmas break.
The Team at Kerfoot scope included:
- New power distribution system for the offices and surrounding critical items
- New lighting and complex lighting control system to integrate with the AV system that had been installed through out the offices board rooms.
- Complex AV installation for the staff to use for presentations and board meetings
- New communications networks to serve all the new office areas.
As this part of the hospital was considered a critical area timing and planning had to be perfect.
The success of this project was shown through the same team being awarded further projects with the same head contractor, tendering and others throughout the campus.
The project has leads to a great new relationship between Kerfoot and another large hospital in Sydney.
