Hammond Care

The Hammond Care project extended over a 16 month period which consisted of the refurbishment of the existing Woonona Cottage and the new construction of a four story dementia facility, the RACF building.
The RACF building required the installation of a new outdoor 1200A Site Main Switchboard with a backup 600kVA generator supply. Nine distribution boards were supplied downstream of this Site MSB, with a 25kW solar system and dedicated UPS back up supply for the comms room.
Kerfoot were contracted to install all lighting power & data, a complete fire & warning system, MATV & Pay TV system, a complete security & access system, and a small AV component.

The RACF building consisted of a car park in the basement, where the Main Switch room was located and the only comms room which supplied the entire building, posing the rough in a little more challenging than usual.
The remaining building consisted of kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms and outdoor areas to create a homely feel for the dementia patients.
From asbestos delays, to challenging materials handling, and the all too familiar un-organisation of builders, the crew onsite conducted themselves as a well organised team. Chris Reiken was exceptionally satisfied with the level of professionalism displayed by the team in both their work and the manor they conducted themselves.
