Project Description
The well-known Garrison Church has a classic 19th century Sydney church interior. Both the exterior and interior of the church are listed on the NSW State Heritage Register. The church is also a major tourist attraction in the historic Rocks area.
Kerfoot Projects was contracted to install new lighting to the heritage ceiling that would help highlight the features of this amazing building.
The project would include the relocation of all seating and the use of scaffolding and lifting equipment to remove and dismantle the old lighting and install new track lighting and a complex lighting control system to integrate with the existing audio and visual installation. As the church is a popular tourist attraction much of the work was completed after hours to avoid disruption to the community.
Project Accolades
The lighting installation did not impact on any of the heritage items within the church and has given the church a great new look.
The large scale relocation of seating along with the high level installation was a challenge but for the Kerfoot team completed the installation on time and with no safety incidents for the team involved.
Kerfoot is still working closely with the church on more of its lighting installations.
