Project Description
Kerfoot was awarded the refurbishment project for Taronga Zoos Hospitality outlets.
The project was a design and construct and all electrical services were included in Kerfoot’s scope of works. The project was to be staged to allow for no disruption to the large crowds of tourists and school kids each week.
The team at Kerfoot worked with the Zoo’s design team to ensure the Hospitality outlets were functional and all the equipment needs were served without consuming more power than already available.
The spectacular perspective of Sydney Harbor from Taronga Zoo makes it one of Sydney’s major tourist destinations and these Hospitality outlets would need to be as spectacular as the view.
Huge custom pendants were installed over food outlets and seating areas requiring specially designed structural steel bracing. Using floor voids, cavity’s, floor boxes and some clever planning the Team at Kerfoot were able to conceal all of the cabling to keep these standalone outlets looking neat and tidy.
The location of this project was very popular with the team at Kerfoot and has become a favourite place for some of the employees to work.
The team worked around the clock to make sure disruption was kept to a minimum and project time lines were met. The success of this project has lead the team at Kerfoot to completed more works for this client and has been recommended by the Zoo for all future projects.
