Sydney Airport – Qantas T3 Terminal | HVAC

Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport (colloquially Mascot Airport, Kingsford Smith Airport, or Sydney Airport) is an international airport in Sydney, Australia located 8 km (5 mi) south of Sydney city centre, in the suburb of Mascot. The airport is owned by the ASX-listed Sydney Airport Group.

It is the primary airport serving Sydney, and is a primary hub for Qantas, as well as a secondary hub for Virgin Australia and Jetstar Airways. Situated next to Botany Bay, the airport has three runways, colloquially known as the east–west, north–south and third runways.

Kerfoot were engaged on this project to complete the essential mechanical electrical (HVAC) services scope of works in terminal 3 to upgrade the terminal to be compliant with fire regulations in gates 15, 18 and 19. These works included:

  • The design, manufacture and commissioning of an Essential services switchboard with interface with the FIP, with fire over-ride and status.
  • Eight smoke spill fans through out gates 15, 18 and 19 all having Variable speed drives.
  • Twenty Zone make up air louvres with an actuator on each.
