Project Description
The OCADO fulfillment centre is situated in the Horsley Drive Business Park in Wetherill Park. It is approximately 30,000 SQM, a highly automated pick and pack distribution storage centre for a wide range of ambient, chilled, fresh and frozen products.
Ocado’s “smart platform” technology, which includes automated single-pick fulfilment technology, will transform the online shopping experience, enabling it to provide fresher food, more accurate orders and more next-day delivery capacity, while reducing the cost to serve and improving returns.
Kerfoot undertook the complete design and install package on our One Kerfoot ethos to provide an end-to-end solution to meet the client’s needs.
Specific items within the scope of this project were:
Full design and construct of all Electrical, Communications, Lighting, Security, Wireless Mesh Network, HV Systems (Private HV Network), UPS System, Generator System and PV System services.
Project Accolades
A total of 4,348 JA Solar 460W panels complete with half cell technology were installed to site on top of this massive facility which can generate 5.68 GWh power annually. This is a sizable cost saving of 4,658.78t CO2 emissions each year.
Part of the design and to help future proof the project, underground wiring was installed in preparation for the fleet transition to electric vehicles and upgrades to the facility.
This project was a great opportunity for the team to learn and develop. Notably the hands-on involvement in HV Transformers with Kerfoot representatives travelling to the factory located in Albury to personally oversee the products of the transformers, ensuring the completion of the main electrical infrastructure of the site on time.
