GWA – Head Office Fit Out

Project Description

GWA were looking to relocate to the large new offices recently construction with in Norwest Business Park.

The project was to be completed within the Christmas break to allow the Staff at GWA to return from there Holidays and move straight in to the new offices.

The time frame was short and the project was awarded as a complete design and construct. The team at Kerfoot immobilised very quickly when awarded this project completing their design for client approval in the short time allocated.

As the office sizes were very large two teams with one site manager were appointed to this project to ensure the quality and speed of works was maintained.

To allow for the needs of GWA’s large communications network and mechanical requirements a major upgrade of the floors electrical services was undertaken with alterations to the main switch board and supply authority meters completed after hours to minimise disruptions to the buildings existing tenants.

This project was considered a huge success as it was the first time Kerfoot had worked with the head contractor and client before. The project was delivered on time and on budget the client moving in as expected and they have been extremely happy with the new premises.

 

45 Clarence Street – Base Building Up Grades

Project Description

The project took place across 10 levels within the building. For Kerfoot the project involved the upgrade of all Base building surfaces and returning vacated fit outs back to Base building spaces for new tenants to move in.

Once under way Kerfoot was also awarded the upgrade of lift lobby’s, amenities and more levels.

The Kerfoot team worked closely with the Head contractor and building facility managers to ensure that power upgrades would not disrupt the existing tenants.

Now completed each level now has new bathrooms, amenities & Lobby’s complying with the newest standards and BCA codes also with an upgraded power distribution systems.

The client was extremely happy with the project and with the new look to each level they have been able to attract new tenants.

This multi-level project was hugely successful for the team at Kerfoot as it cemented our relationship with this client and has led to much more work in the future.

Benny’s Burger Sydney Airport T1

Project Description

In an Australian first, Sydney Airport has announced Wolfgang Puck, the internationally acclaimed chef who has catered the Oscars for the past 21 years, to launch The Bistro by Wolfgang Puck as one of the premium dining brands within the new City View precinct in T1 International Departures beyond customs. The new offering will be joined by four new food brands to collectively form the City View precinct. The exciting new precinct will include global first Benny Burger by Shannon Bennett, first to Australia concept Joe & The Juice, and a bespoke Heineken House by Heineken, offering passengers a unique food and dining experience before they fly. Best known for his gourmet credentials running award-winning restaurant Vue de Monde, Australian chef Shannon Bennett has created the Benny Burger concept especially for Sydney Airport’s T1.

Kerfoot Projects was awarded the electrical services and were very excited to be a part of this project.

The project included the supply and installation of:

  • Power to all new kitchen equipment, Fridges, freezers and staff areas.
  • General lighting for kitchen facility’s
  • Detailed feature lighting to all the public areas are shop front
  • Communications services
  • Emergency lighting
  • CCTV camera cabling
  • All signage lighting

Kerfoot worked with the Airport’s project deliver team to ensure the project was completed with minimal disruption to travelers or other facilities.

This meant coordinating shutdowns, delivery’s and all noisy works with in the specific times allowed by the Airport’s project team.

The opening day was set and the team at Kerfoot helped hand the project over to the client on time and within budget.

The Kerfoot project team were delighted when asked to participate in the test testing day for the kitchen staff with approval for the new Burgers being given by all that tasted.

Now open the Burger shop is a hit with the public and the feature lighting has been a huge hit with customers.

Kerfoot management are very proud of this project and the team that helped competed it.

Chief Entertainment

Project Description

Chief Entertainment is one of the major tenants occupying the Fox Sports building located in Artarmon Sydney.

They needed to alter one of their existing tenancy to allow for subleasing to other businesses.

Kerfoot was awarded the electrical services as a design and construct contract.

As the project was located above recording studio’s for Fox and Chief Entertainment the team at Kerfoot had to carefully plan all works that affected other tenancy’s.

Shutdowns, cable installations, Drilling and noisy works were preformed around the recording studio’s strict time frames with the project completed on time.

The team at Kerfoot were praised by the client for their hard works and willingness to corporate and work in with all the buildings existing tenants.

Crown Hotel Surry Hills – Refurbishment

Project Description

The team at Kerfoot recently completed a major upgrade of one of Sydney’s busiest Pubs, The Republic.

With the success of this project Kerfoot was awarded the Crown Hotel Surry Hills refurbishment with the same client.

The project included a new gaming area to comply with all regulations, upgraded main bar area and dining facilities.

This pub is located in the busy Crown Street of Surry Hills and it was important that the client remain operational throughout this project.

As the upgrade of the communications network for the gaming room was such an important part of the project Kerfoot Team worked with the hotel & gaming companies to install this new network weeks before the old was to be disconnected and relocated.

This new network was tested and run prior to the relocation to ensure there was no down time for the client and hotel patrons.

The hotels new look has been great for business with the hotel fully reopening and business returning better than before the works had started.

Over the course of this staged project the team at Kerfoot formed a close working relationship with the facility’s team at Crown and since the successful completion of these project were now the onsite Electrician for this site and others that are under the Crown Hotel Group.

This project has shown how effective the team at Kerfoot is when delivering project and ensuring the client’s needs are maintained once the project has finished and we have left site.

Australian National Maritime Museum – Wharf 7 Project

Project Description

This project was under taken by the Australian National Maritime Museum to consolidate all facility management staff into one office.

This area already housed the majority of the management team so keeping this area operational while works took place was critical.

The project was awarded to Kerfoot as a design and construct, Kerfoot worked with the client and head contractor to ensure the design was functional and fell within the clients budget.

Kerfoot project team had recently completed a large project on site and this project had been awarded due to the success of it. The team remained the same for this project and the outcome did to. The client was extremely happy with Kerfoots ability to complete the project with no disruption to the staff at any stage throughout the project.

Switch Boards, Communication infrastructure and other major services were upgraded to suit the new offices and the project was completed on time.

Over the course of this staged project the team at Kerfoot formed a close working relationship with the facility’s team at ANMM and since the successful completion of these projects Kerfoot is now the onsite electrician for this site and all major projects.

This project has shown how effective the team at Kerfoot is when delivering project and ensuring the client’s needs are maintained once the project has finished and we have left site.

Westmead Executive Offices

Project Description

The Westmead Executive Offices was one of the first stages of the Major works to be undertaken over the next 10 years by Health Infrastructure and the NSW government.

The team at Kerfoot worked closely throughout design and tender stage with the nominated head contractor and was awarded this project along with a number of minor works to occur at the same time.

For Kerfoot the project included the design and construction of all electrical services for this new office area of the hospital.

Works began at Christmas time with the project to hand over before staff returned from their Christmas break.

The Team at Kerfoot scope included:

  • New power distribution system for the offices and surrounding critical items
  • New lighting and complex lighting control system to integrate with the AV system that had been installed through out the offices board rooms.
  • Complex AV installation for the staff to use for presentations and board meetings
  • New communications networks to serve all the new office areas.

As this part of the hospital was considered a critical area timing and planning had to be perfect.

The success of this project was shown through the same team being awarded further projects with the same head contractor, tendering and others throughout the campus.

The project has leads to a great new relationship between Kerfoot and another large hospital in Sydney.

 

St Vincents Renal Ambulatory Care Facility

Project Description

The project is the relocation of the Renal Ambulatory Care facility to an area on Level 4 of the Xavier building at St Vincents Hospital, Darlinghurst.

This relocation works required the staged fit out of 4 separate locations on the Darlinghurst campus.

Kerfoot will be undertaking major electrical services upgrades with in the hospital and assisting the staged relocation of staff through alterations to the communications network.

This project is one of many projects the team at Kerfoot is currently undertaking on the Darlinghurst campus.

Australia’s National Maritime Museum – Ships and the Sea Display

Project Description

With a roofline evoking waves and sails, Australia’s National Maritime Museum at Darling Harbour, NSW, is one of the state’s leading tourism attractions.

The museum houses exhibitions that explore Australia’s links with the sea, and showcases how maritime activities and issues have shaped the lives of people in Australia.

Looking to expand and update their exhibition areas, Kerfoot, was engaged to provide all electrical services for their new exhibition space.

One of the main features of the project was the complex CBUS lighting control system.

Clipsal CBUS Architectural dimmers were installed to allow museum management to set the LED track lighting levels to best emphasize the exhibitions. The flexibility of the C-BUS Architectural dimmers interchangeable modular cards allowed a combination of ballast cards and universal dimmer cards to be used in the project.

As the fittings are frequently moved around to accommodate new exhibitions in the area, it would have been a difficult task to set scene control that would suit all displays

Eight lighting zones have been established, each with on/off and dimming options. settings can be controlled via one of the two Clipsal C-BUS touch screens at the site. The touch screens have also been customised to include the National Maritime Museum’s logo and each has an access code to restrict use to employees only

The project was a huge success and this successful completion of this project has led to major project works for Kerfoot and out team at the museum.

Transurban Lane Cove Tunnel Office Refurbishment

Project Description

The project was located within the control centre of the Lane Cove Tunnel and included refurbishment of 2 office levels and an upgrade of a 24/7 Incident Control room for the Lane Cove Tunnel Offices.

For the team at Kerfoot the project involved the complete upgrade of all electrical services to suit the new layout. Including new lighting, Emergency lighting, smart lighting control and power for the new offices.

As the offices are 24/7 and monitor one of Sydney’s busiest tunnels the team at Kerfoot had to ensure everything was coordinated and planed perfectly.

Distribution Board shutdowns were not possible unless power was maintained to the 24/7 Incident Control room and support staff.

Time lines were set in place very early on and the team at Kerfoot worked to meet these time lines with all shutdowns going to plan.

The client remained operational throughout the duration of the project with The Kerfoot team to thank for this.

The Team was praised for their hard work and planning as this project did not disrupt the client in any way and has been considered a huge success.
